Condemned arrest spree, repression of security forces

Srinagar, April 24, 2014
Jammu and Kashmir People’s league Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza who was today in the morning detained and kept house arrest congratulated people of South Kashmir for rejecting the sham polls of Indian conducting with the help of lakhs of Indian armed troops.
According to party spokesman, Imtiyaz Reshi Waza in a statement denounced the arrest spree and use of brute force on peaceful protesters in this southern region of valley.
“Very few people who are the agents of these main stream participated in these polls while as general public rejected these establishes the fact the elections since 1951 haven’t affected the ongoing freedom struggle nor it will affect so.” Waza said.
He said that security forces used brute force in all four districts of the region on peaceful protesters who were protesting against the so-called elections.
“Sevearl youth have been arrested and several others were injured during the day by police, this oppression of security forces in the valley clearly exposes the so-called Indian democracy.” He said.
He said that Indian oppression and suppression can’t keep away general public from the ongoing freedom struggle neither can sabotage the movement through its military might.
He termed the ongoing elections in the valley a heavy military operation and said, “Kashmir is the highly militarized region in the rest of world and despite the fact India deployed more troops in lakhs for this operation.” Adding threatening, oppressing people under the shadow of gun is no more a democracy.
