Srinagar, October 15: APHC
leader and the spokesman of Jammu and
Kashmir Peoples League, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi has said that Kashmir is an
internationally recognised dispute, which needs to be resolved as per relevant
resolutions of the United Nations.
Reshi addressing a party function in Srinagar said that India had occupied the territory in violation of the international law and against this forcible occupation the United Nations had passed its first resolution on 13th August in 1948. The resolution advocates settlement of the dispute, he added.
The APHC leader appealed to the UN to implement its resolutions on Kashmir and take cognisance of human rights violations by Indian troops and police personnel in the territory. He said that the Indian forces had, so far, killed thousands of innocent people in fake encounters in occupied Kashmir.
Imtiyaz Reshi and other participants of the meeting reiterated that the unparalleled sacrifices offered by the Kashmiri people for the Kashmir cause would not be allowed to go waste and the ongoing liberation movement would be taken to its logical end.
