Waza Paid rich tributes to Shaheed-i-Azeemat, Sheikh Aziz
Instead of 11 August death anniversary will be observed in 13 August spokesperson jkpl imtiyaz reshi

SRINAGAR, JULY 31, 2013
The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s League Mukhtar Ahmad Waza,
while paying tributes to the great sacrifice of Shaheed Azeemat Sheikh
Abdul Aziz, and eulogizing his contribution to the freedom struggle of
Kashmir.
He said that he and his 72 associates, who laid down their lives for
Kashmir in 2008 uprising, will never be forgotten, and the people of
Kashmir ultimately, will see the sun of freedom shining over Jammu and
Kashmir, although India may create obstructions in the way of the
people’s march towards their cherished goal.
Sheikh Aziz was ascribed to be amongst the frontline Pro-freedom
leaders and was one of the Executive Member of All Parties Hurriyat
Conference (APHC) - which represents the aspiration of Kashmiris
politically, diplomatically and socially besides Chairman of Jammu and
Kashmir People’s League. He was shot dead Indian armed forces 11 of
August 2008 at Boniyar Uri, when he was leading a peaceful protest
march against the economic blockade from Indian side
He said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not be allowed
to go waste and their mission would be taken to its logical
conclusion. “Kashmiri martyrs centre-staged Kashmir dispute at the
international level.” He said
Waza reiterated that mission of martyrs Shaheed.e.Azeemat, Sheikh
Abdul Aziz will be taken to its logical conclusion despite all odds.
He said that the martyred leader remained dedicated to his mission
till the day of his martyrdom.
He said that “Right from 1947, India has been trying to suppress the
voice of Kashmiris by force. But neither they succeeded in the past,
nor they would in future,” Mukhtar Waza pointed out that the
international human rights organization had been calling upon India
from time to time to stop rights abuses in Kashmir but these pleas had
been falling on deaf ears.
He said that despite its repeated claims of Zero tolerance, India
failed evidently and also never succeeded in giving any kind of
punishment to the troops involved the rights violations neither any
investigation they started completed till this time.
Waza appealed to the international community particularly the United
Nations to take cognizance of the atrocities being committed by Indian
troops against innocent people of Kashmir.
Meanwhile Jammu and Kashmir People’s League chalked out a week long
programme to pay tributes to great martyr Sheikh Aziz and his 72
associates and said that the week will be observed on APHC (M) Plate
forum. According to the week long programme death anniversary of great
martyr of Kashmir, Sheikh Abdul Aziz will be observed on 13th of
August instead of 11 August, in view of Eid. Death anniversary of the
leader will be observed by conducting a seminar at APHC head quarters
in Srinagar under the chairmanship of Mirvaiz Molvi Umar Farooq.
