Criminal Tribunal to investigate into
unmarked graves in Kashmir and killing of innocent youths in shopion by forces and killing of Senior hurriyat leader and executive and central counsel member of peoples league Gazi Rashid
PRESS RELEASE
Srinagar, september 29,Hurriyet Conference executive member and Chairman
Jammu Kashmir Peoples league, Mukthar Ahmad waza has appealed to the
international Criminal Tribunal to investigate into the discovery of
unmarked graves in Kashmir and killing of innocent youths in shopion by forces and killing of Senior hurriyat leader and executive and central counsel member of peoples league Gazi Rashid and identify the persons buried in them and
the report about the unidentified graves in the territory must be
analyzed in the context that over ten thousand Kashmiris have
disappeared in custody during the last twenty-two years.
Waza while addressing party workers at different areas of Phalgam,
appleaded the world organization to help kashmiri people in resolving
long pending Kashmir issue on humanitarian grounds. He said that Kashmir
was a political dispute, which could be resolved through tripartite
talks involving India, Pakistan and the true Kashmiri leadership.
He stressed India to create conducive atmosphere for meaningful and
result-oriented talks on Kashmir. He said that permanent peace in
South Asia was impossible without the settlement of the long-pending
dispute over Kashmir.
Waza demanded an end to unlawful arrest spree and halt to gross
violations of human rights by Indian troops in Kashmir. He said that
the world community had recognized Kashmir as a dispute, which should
be settled through dialogue process.
Waza appealed to the international community, United Nations, OIC and
world human rights to impress uponIndia to end human rights
violations in Kashmir.
He maintained that India’s claim of zero tolerance against rights
abuse proved to be a hoax in the backdrop of fake encounters and
targeted killing of innocent Kashmiris over the past few months.
Waza urged India to stop the rights abuse, withdraw its troops and
repeal all black laws from the territory before initiating meaningful
talks on Kashmir.
He deplored that the occupation authorities had always tried to shield
the culprits involved in the killing of innocent Kashmiri people.
Waza said that Indian troops had unleashed a reign of terror in
Kashmir to suppress Kashmiris’ liberation struggle. “The troopers
commit gross rights’ abuses with impunity in Kashmir due to the
invocation of draconian laws by occupation authorities,” he added.
He said irrespective of any countries support Kashmiri people and
especially youths are committed to achieve independence from India at
every cost.
