Waza welcomes Pak Army Chief’s statement, says Kashmir resolution will guarantee regional peace
Condemns state sponsored terrorism of Indian troops in valley

Srinagar, May 2, 2014
Jammu Kashmir People’s League Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza today welcomed the statement of Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, assuring resolution of Kashmir issue in accordance with the wishes of Kashmiris and in line with UNSC resolutions for lasting peace in the region.
Waza, who was accompanied by Party Vice Chairman, Nazeer Ahmad Khan, and General Sectary Mohd Ashraf Vaid while addressing a gathering after Friday paryers in Verinag area of Islamabad district, termed the statement of Pakistan Army Chief depicting realism beneficial for both the countries in guaranteeing regional peace.
“Pakistan Army Chief’s statement is established reality which India must accept, Kashmir is internationally recognized dispute and for its resolution, United Nations has passed resolutions which needs to implemented for its peaceful resolution as without resolving the dispute, peace and stability in south Asian region can’t be guaranteed as in case both the nuclear armed countries can disrupt the prevailing peace which will surely disrupt the peace of whole world.” Waza said, adding reaction of Indian political parties shows their political compulsions.
He said that Indian political parties calming illegally occupied state as their integral part is their political compulsion as the country is going through general elections, so in the season Indian political parties will issue such statements just to lure the voters.
Waza said that No peace can be guaranteed without the resolution of Kashmir issue in its proper political context.
Condemning, the Nawakadal Killings, clamping of curfew in Srinagar, restrictions in other parts of the valley, arresting over thousand youths and detaining of pro-freedom leadership in jails and police station, Waza said that state sponsored terrorism of Indian troops can’t week the ongoing freedom struggle neither can suppress the voices of common Kashmiris.
“Despite the policy of military repression, India could not weaken the blossoming freedom movement. India can’t overlook the aspirations of Kashmiri people and the time has come that India should shun its intransigence policy and take serious steps to solve the Kashmir issue for once and all,” Waza said.
