Srinagar, Jan 30:  Continuing with their weekly protest programme, senior hurriyat leaders including head of hurriyat’s Public contact cell, Zaffar Akbar Bhat, head of public awareness Cell Javaid Ahmad Mir, Syed Bashir Andrabi,SPOKESPERSON JK PEOLES LEAGUE  Imtiyaz Reshi, peoples league Jaffer Kashmiri  ,Molvi Ab Rashid and dozens of other held a protest demonstration in Srinagar against the recent army’s court martial verdict whereby it exonerated the accused army men involved in the Pathribal fake encounter.

During the protest, the leaders, along with dozens of activists, demanded revocation of AFSPA, PSA other draconian laws, end of continuous human rights violations, and release of all political prisoners incarcerated in Jails.

Senior hurriyat leaders   said that it was highly regrettable that world was insensitive towards the sufferings of Kashmiris. He said by giving clean chit to army personnel involved in the pathribal fake encounter, the hurriyat stands vindicated that Kashmir is run by the army and there was no regard for justice and humanity in the conflict torn land.

Bhat said APHC would continue to raise its voice against AFSPA and other draconian laws, adding, hurriyat would also continue to strive for the resolution of Kashmir according to the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris. He said the lingering Kashmir dispute poses constant threat to peace in South Asia and the world at large.


Meanwhile, the leaders have stressed upon the people to observe strike on January 31, Friday to protest against the human rights violations and demand the revocation of AFSPA and other black laws in Kashmir.
