PL urges world community to focus on Kashmir

Srinagar, October 15: The APHC leader and Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza while addressing party workers at Islamabad said that the amicable solution to the Kashmir dispute was a must for bringing permanent peace in South Asia. He appealed international community to break its silence on Kashmir to come forward for a resolution of the Kashmir issue so that the struggle of the Kashmiris bears fruit.

Mukhtar Waza strongly condemned continued human rights violations committed by Indian troops and said that New Delhi could not suppress the ongoing freedom movement by using brute force against the people of Kashmir. He called upon the world community, Asian watch and international human rights organizations to put pressure on India to halt massive human rights violations in Kashmir and resolve the long-standing Kashmir dispute in accordance with aspirations of Kashmiris. He added that Kashmir cannot be solved by a miracle, but the leaderships in India and Pakistan will have to come up with concrete initiatives, and the international community will have to mount pressure on both countries in view of the seriousness of the issue.
