Senior Hurriyat Leader and  Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Peoples League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza in a declaration has felicitated Muslim brethren on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr and urged people of Kashmir to observe this carnival with extreme austerity. Waza has urged people to pray for the elevation-status of Kashmiri martyrs. Waza stressed that we must not forget those who are living under biggest prison in the World, prison of Kashmir, where millions of Kashmiris are daily facing torture, and killing since 63, years. Waza asked the people to express solidarity with the families of martyrs and wounded persons by visiting their houses on the day. Waza has appealed the people to help the families of their Kashmiri brethren, who were injured or martyred by Indian police and troops during the ongoing agitation.
Waza maintained that the ongoing movement is for justice, against the discrimination. “We always believed Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, and Muslims form Jammu and Kashmir. Our struggle is not for territory, our struggle is for people. We believe in right of self-determination of all peoples within Jammu and Kashmir for the resolution, in which of course people will be free to vote for Pakistan, Independence or India. Let democratic exercise of referendum determine the future of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
Peace in the subcontinent cannot be restored unless and until the core issue of Kashmir imbroglio is not addressed seriously because it is only peace which can guarantee for the prosperity and development in the region, Waza said. He appealed common masses of people to solicit their sincere co-operation and timely suggestions so that Jammu Kashmir Peoples League will emerge as a full-flagged pro-freedom democratic political organization, he added.
Waza has appealed to the people not to forget families who lost their near and dear ones in the ongoing freedom struggle. He reaffirmed Kashmiris resolve to remain steadfast on the path shown by prophets Ibrahim and Isamil in the struggle to secure the right to self-determination SPOKESMAN PL IMTIYAZ RESHI
