Waza condemns attack on Jail inmates in Tihar, paid glowing tributes to martyrs

Jammu and Kashmir people’s league chairman Mukhtar Ahmad Waza today condemned attack and assault on Kashmiri jail inmates in Indian Tihar Jail by criminals.
In a statement issued today, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has appealed international human rights organizations, protecting rights of jail inmates all over the world to take a serious note of the attack and assault on Mohd Shafiq in Tihar Jail before few days and press authorities to ensure safety and security of Kashmiri detainees in Indian jails as well inside state jails. He said that people’s league has ever since risen over the issue and authorities weren’t providing the facilities to jail inmates as per the jail norms.
“Recent attack on Kashmiri jailed youth in Tihar is an example of the ill treatment meted out to Kashmiri prisoners in Indian jails.” Waza said, while demanding inquiry into the incident, punishment to culprits and ensuring safety, security of the detainees.
Mukhtar Ahmad Waza also glowing tributes to frontline freedom fighters and intellectuals who laid down their precious lives for just cause of the Kashmiri nation, including Advoacte Jaleel Indrabi, Ishafq Majeed Wani, Shabir Sidiqi and Dr Abdul Ahad Guru.
He said that martyrs have laid down sacrifices for a noble mission which can’t be ignored or underestimated, however the responsibility of taking martyrs mission to its logical conclusion lies on our shoulders. He pledged to accomplish martyrs mission and retreated his call to fight peacefully till Kashmir gets resolved as per the aspiration and wishes of Kashmiri people which they are expressing since Indian occupied the state illegally.
Meanwhile, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza remembered veteran journalist Tahir Muzter, on his first death anniversary and expressed solidarity and sympathy with the family.
