Jammu and Kashmir people’s league Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad who today along
with a party delegation comprising PPF Chairman Mohd Musadiq Adil, Gulam
Qadir Rah, Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi and others were arrested on way to Sumbal
and were lodged in police station Sumbal.

Delegation was scheduled to visit the families of two youths martyred by
Indian army during a siege and search operation.

Peoples League senior party leader Shakeel-ul-rehman who along with party
activists Bilal Ahmad, Hial Ahmad, Javed Ahmad, Khursheed Ahmad visited the
breaved families castigated the authorities for arresting party chairman
along with delegation. He condemned the police action and said that
political space for the hurriayt leaders is being shirked on the directions
of puppets.

He also condemned the innocent killings and expressed solidarity with the
families of martyred families. He termed the civilian killings as barbaric
and cowardly acts on part of Indian army and Indian state terrorism.

Meanwhile party chairman in a press statement, Mukhtar Waza paid glowing
tributes to Irfan Ahmad and Irshad Ahmad and said that killing innocent
people under the grab of black laws like Armed Force Special Powers Act.
(AFSPA) and others are worst kind of human rights violations that continue
from last 1947.

“Under the garb of AFSPA and other black laws, the troopers enjoy impunity
and are authorized to kill any Kashmiri and go unaccounted for crimes they
commit,” Waza said, adding killing kashmiris or intensifying state
sponsored terrorism is no more solution to the Kashmir problem as the
people of the state have laid their precious lives for sacred goal that is
the resolution of Kashmir and will continue to.

He said right from 27 the October in 1947, Indian security forces under the
grab of different black laws continue to commit heinous crimes and human
right violations but not a single force’s responsible for the rights
violations was booed or punished.

He urged United Nations to implement its resolutions on Kashmir without
further delay as Indian will keep Kashmir’s situation volatile.  “For the
implementation of UN resolutions on Kashmir current situation in the state
is much conducive and UN should implement its resolutions on Kashmir issue
without any further delay as it is fact that Indian because of the fear of
losing illegally occupied state,  will continue to keep the situation
violate by killings and other human rights violations . So it is better
that kashmirs may be given their basic right ‘right to self
determination’.” He said.

He expressed deep sorrow and extended his sympathies and condolence to the
bereaved families and mourners. He paid glowing tributes to the martyrs.
