Cracks in Hurriyat (M): Former close aide of Shabir Shah talks to Only Kashmir

Srinagar, Jan 08 Only Kashmir: In an exclusive interview with Only Kashmir Hurriyat leader and Spokesman JK Peoples League Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi who happens to be the close aide of Democratic Freedom Party Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah talks with our staff reporter regarding the present scenario of Hurriyat (M).
Q: What are the consequences Mirwaiz Umar Farooq cancelled the membership of Shabir Ahmad Shah and others in POK? As this decision of Hurriyat Chairman can create a new Faction of Hurriyat?
Imtiyaz Reshi: Once upon a time when the statement of Prof Ab Gani Bhat at Botiang Sopore resulted a dispute in Hurriyat, I told Shabir Sahib personally after he why you kept himself far from Hurriyat and not attended any meeting of APHC, I told him what are reasons whether constitutional misunderstandings or the rights of administration, I enquired. But unfortunately he ignored me.
Shah Shab and Azam Shab said in a Press Conference that it is good time to be away from Hurriyat due to doubtful policy in Hurriyat, he also called off Mahmood Sagar the then Azad Kashmir convener.
If Shah Sahib considers himself a part of APHC so he should adapt the policies of Hurriyat. Reshi said for me Hurriyat is more important because it is the only recognized internationally faction of Hurriyat, it is the voice of voiceless people of Kashmir.
Q: The unity among Hurriyat leaders is always a question with the members of all factions of Hurriyat, what is the reason?
Imtiyaz Reshi: We are fighting against the Indian occupation and in case if someone joins hand with the oppressor, how can you expect unity with that person. Indeed it is a serious matter.
If the some water of River Jehlum will take another way instead of Zaina Kadal and Ali Kadal the same water can’t be considered as Jehlum, the example is same whosoever claims to the separatist out of Hurriyat can’t be considered as Hurriyat Leader.
Q: People are totally disappointed with the cracks in Hurriyat, what is your message to the people?
Imtiyaz Reshi: I can say only one thing; different people have different opinions, its people who make someone their representative. They should only support a true leader who can really address their aspirations.
