Srinagar, JANUARY 18: Executive Member of Hurriyat Conference (M) and Chairman Jammu Kashmir People’s League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza today, while emphasizing the importance of resolution of decade’s old Kashmir issue said that only peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue can bring peace prosperity and stability in south Asia as well as in India and Pakistan.
Addressing gathering after Friday congregations at Dooru Shahabad Islamabad , Mukhtar Waza said that Kashmir dispute is the main cause of and source of tension between the two nuclear power countries. Referring to recent LOC Skirmish waza said, “Recent LoC tension is the result of Kashmir dispute and people of Jammu and Kashmir are peaceful we don’t like killings and other tension so Government of Indian should  come forward for the final resolution of Kashmir issue, as the Kashmir is a political issue and needs to be resolved politically.” Adding they shouldn’t skip humanitarian grounds because at same time Kashmir is a humanitarian issue that needs to be resolved on humanitarian grounds as well.
He said that Kashmir dispute can any time disturb the peace of whole south Asia as Kashmir dispute is now a nuclear flash point in the south Asian sub-continent
Mukhtar Waza maintained that unfortunately, the people of Jammu and Kashmir was still kept deprived of right to self-determination and the promises made with them at international level were not fulfilled.
“The authorities cannot suppress the Kashmiris’ liberation struggle through use of brute force,” he added. Waza said that the acts of Indian state terrorism perpetrated against innocent Kashmiris were aimed at silencing their just voice for right to self-determination, but the people of Jammu and Kashmir will continue their struggle for securing right to self-determination till its logical end.
Castigating Indian intelligentsia and media raised highly concern over the killings on LoC but they didn’t spoke out a word against the Kashmir Killings and massacres that took place in last 65 years. He said that Indian media is maintain bias while covering Kashmir conflict.  “They companied over Delhi gang rape or Loc killings but when it happens in Kashmir they remain silent, they didn’t spoke a word over shopian gang rape or 2010 intifada brutal killings.” Waza said, while appealing international forums and media organizations to depute their teams in Kashmir for asserting ground realities.
