Waza castigates state government and its agencies for rights violations. Expressed concern over arresting two girls in Kulgam

Srinagar, January 23: Senior Hurriyat Leader and Jammu and Kashmir
people’s League, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza today castigating State govermnet
and its agencies for lashing a reign of terror among the people of
valley and appealed international human rights organizations to
intervene into the cases and rights violations done by security forces
in the state.
Mukhtar Ahmad Waza today visited the family of Ab Hamid Sheikh,
Resident of Laroo Kulgam, whose family was harassed, torched, and his
two daughters were molested by the police during a night raid in order
to arrest the family members involved in land dispute. He expressed
concern over the way adopted by police to deal with civil cases.
Mukhtar Waza while addressing a gathering outside their residence, he
castigated authorities for lashing a reign of terror among the people
and particularly in the family. He said that police has done grave
human rights violations like forces are doing since from 1947. He said
that security forces are involved in grave human rights violations and
no one has been punished for their crimes that they have done. He
said, “State has now became a police state and violating human rights
has became the habit of people security forces.” he appealed
international human rights organizations to intervene in the cases and
pressurize Indian for bringing an end to the rights violations.
