People’s league paid glowing tributes to S Hamid Wani on 16th martyrdom anniversary.

Jammu and Kashmir People’s League today paid glowing tributes to Shaheed-I-Inqalab S Hamid Wani on his 16th martyrdom anniversary.

In this connection a prayer meet (Fateh-e-Khwani) was organized at Martyrs grave yard in Srinagar under the banner of All Parties Hurriyat Conference, however party chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza who was couldn’t participate in the program as he was arrested when he was on way from Islamabad to Srinagar at Bijbehara.

Waza shab was later shifted Police station Islamabad.

Party spokesman Imtiyaz Reshi has condemned the police action and said that such brutal and oppressive tact will not deter our party chairman and he will continue his political activities till his last berth.

Besides People’s Leaugue Party leaders and activists Senior APHC leaders which include, Mohd Musadiq Aadil , Zaffer Akber Bhat, Javaid Ahmad Mir , Gh Qadir Rah, Advocate Shahidul Islam,Ab Rashid Hakeem,Imtiyaz Ahmad Reshi,Jaffer Kashmiri,Hakeem Ab Rashid, Syed Basheer Andrabi,Gh Nabi Zaki, Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi,Shabir Ahmad Bhat, Tahoor Ahmad Sidiqi,Aafaq ahmad Bhat , Ab Majid Wani, M SHAFI, Reyaz Ahmad, Gh Ahmad Shah, visited the Martyrs Graveyard Eidgah Srinagar and paid rich tributes to Shaheed-i-Inqlab S. Hamid Wani on his 16th martyrdom anniversary.

Amid Pro-freedom and Anti Election slogans, the APHC leaders on the occasion held special prayers for the martyrs of Kashmir in general and for Shaheed S. Hameed in particular.

S Hamid Wani was arrested by the police and killed in custody on April 18, 1998 at Soura in Srinagar
