Waza shocked over kulgam custodial killing, expressed solidarity with the family

SRINAGAR, AUGUST 03:

Jammu and Kashmir People’s League Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza today
expressed great anguish and sorrow over the custodial killing of poor
civilian who was arrested by the police. He expressed sympathy and
solidarity with the bereaved family and told them not to lose the
heart as the incident was not new for the Kashmiris who laid their
precious lives for the Kashmir cause.

Waza who today visited the family Mohd Jabbar Sheikd in Bulsoo Kulgam
said that due ransom and custodial killings by police, being
themselves part of the nation that is fighting peacefully against
Indian rule is shocking and unacceptable.   Waza termed it worst kind
of human rights violation and said that these kind rights violations
had been taking place from 1947 when Indian armed forces occupied the
state illegally.

Waza said that according to family members of Sheikh, Police didn’t
allow them to admit him in a hospital besides doctors in Kulgam
hospital recommendations. He said that instead of giving him proper
medical care police showed its cruelty and demanded money from them.

He said that India armed forces have long list of custodial killings
that is evident with hundreds of unmarked graves in the valley
meadows. He said that it is amid to depress Kashmiris Physiologically
so that they can shun the peaceful struggle and demanding their basic
right ‘right to self determination’. However he maintained that Indian
and its agencies will not get any success by playing these brutal
tactics.

Appealing International organization to take strong note on ongoing
human rights violations in the territory by Indian armed forces, he
appealed United Nations to play its role in Kashmir resolution for the
peace and stability in whole south Asian region.
