Srinagar, July 5, 2014
Senior APHC leader and Jammu Kashmir Peoples League Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza Saturday warned that sideling internationally acknowledged Kashmir conflict can prove disastrous for South Asia.
Addressing a meeting of party workers and activists in Kulgam district, Waza said that Kashmir conflict is the world most dangerous issue, as the countries involved in it are nuclear armed and in case they fough any war like they have in past can destabilize and destroy the prevailing peace in whole south Asian region.
Commenting on the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Kashmir visit, Waza said, “Visiting a caged valley talking about development has absolutely no sense.”
“Kashmir is conflict recognized by world community and for its peaceful resolution United Nations has passed several important resolutions besides people of Jammu and Kashmir have given uncounted sacrifices and are laying their precious lives for it.” Waza, adding sideling the core issue and talking about development has no sense.
Warning of disaster if Indian continues its rigid policy, Waza said that Kashmir issue is not the issue of development but it was the issue of right to ‘self determination’ which has been guaranteed to the people of Kashmir by United Nations.
“Non-resolution of Kashmir which is a main reason for the confrontation between India and Pakistan can prove disostrours for both the countries besides for whole south Asian region if the nuclear armed countries confronted each other.” Waza added.
Accompanied by Several party leaders and activists including, Nazir Ahmad Khan, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, Abdul Rashid, Ahamd-ul-Allah, Ali Mohd Pandit and Zulfi Masood, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza appeled party activists to strength the party at gross root level and reach out to oppressed people with the party’s aims and objectives.
