Srinagar, July 16: Paying rich tributes to Mahjr-e-Millat late Mirwaiz Moulvi Yousuf Shah (R.A) on his 47th death anniversary for his commitment towards movement, politics, society and religion in Kashmir, APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Wednesday vowed to continue his mission till the lasting and permanent solution of Kashmir issue.

The death anniversary of Mahajr-e-Millat was observed across the Line of Control. In this connection the biggest congregation was held at historic Aali Masjid, Eidgah Srinagar.on this occassion peoples league spokesperson imtiyaz reshi was also present .

In his inaugural address at Aali Masjid, Mirwaiz stated the contributions of Mahajr-e-Millat regarding the movement, religion and politics were unmatchable. He stated that it was his commitment and resolve towards the cause that Mahajr-e-Millat preferred to live away from his home in poverty, but did not budge an inch from his political stand. He stated that the sacrifices of the late Mirwaiz and lakhs of other people was priceless asset with the Kashmiri nation. He said the sacrifices united the whole nation so as to fight for right to self determination which is continuing even today.

Throwing light on Jang-e-Badar, Mirwaiz stated that blood of innocent Muslims was being spilled everywhere in the world. In Gaza, he said Muslims were subjected to bloodshed and barbarism. He stated that Muslims were suffering since they have forgotten their glorious past and were trying to live like “others”. Unlike past, he stated Muslims were not handful, but a substantial population of the world, adding, despite that Muslims were suffering and facing the brutality of the world.

Terming the silence of Muslim world over the Gaza genocide as a matter of concern, Mirwaiz stated that may it be Palestine or Kashmir, world community has always exhibited double standards. He stated that both Kashmir and Palestine have been constant source of instability in South Asia and Middle East, but the world community and UN as well have failed to fulfill their responsibilities in that regard. As a result, Mirwaiz stated that countries like India and Israel obstinate and doing whatever possible to oppress the oppressed people.

The other noted leaders who paid tributes to Majar-e-Millat on the occasion include Moulana Abbas Ansari, Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al Safvi, General Secreatry Anjuman-e-Tabliqul-Islam Ghulam Ahmad Soharwardi, President Anjuma-e-Himaty-ul-Islam Moulana Khurshid Ahmad Qanungo, AAC Divisional president of Doda Kishtwar Abdul Gani Shah and M. S Shamas.

The qeerat recitation by Dr Shoaib Hussaini who had come all the way from Hyderabad Deccan was of a special attraction on the occasion.

Later, the gathering offered in-absentia prayers for the martyrs of Palestine. The gathering also expressed solidarity and sympathy with the Palestinian people and prayed for the freedom of besieged nation.

Special sessions to pay tributes to Mahajr-e-Millat were also held across the LoC. AAC leaders activists and workers also paid tributes to late Mirwaiz at historic Mirwaiz Manzil.

Meanwhile, Mirwaiz has expressed his regret and shock over the accident at Srinagar-Baramulla highway. While praying for the deceased, Mirwaiz has expressed his solidarity with the bereaved families and asked them to be patient at the critical time. Mirwaiz also condemned the use of force against the protesters by the police.
